After 11 years of great and smooth ride my engine needed to be rebuild, some bearing gasket worn and start to leak oil more and more, but the engine still strong I was wishing to do this project but I had no time and space to keep my car for many weeks with the engine down, at the beginning thought to send to fix the leak but I change of mind and I send my X1/9 to rebuild the engine with the FIAT gurus experts. When the engine was open I saw the reality, this leak was the advise that the engine was almost ready to die, I guess a couple hundred miles more and he let me on the road or the engine blown out.

The engine was rebuilt it on last January 2008 and was fix it as "normal" my first idea was to modify the engine you know it, hot cams, dual weber light flyhwheel etc etc. or "swap" for a modern Honda engine. My misfortune is my X1/9 is 1979 and I live on California, just 1975 and lower models are exempt to smog regulations.
