X1/9 1979

This is my X1/9 today, after many years to look for parts all over the world I got the best on my own opinion from both worlds *early model Europe Version and late model US Version, at last to have this results. Painted on IMOLA YELLOW PPG paint job, Bumpers from Europe 1300 version and front grill and spoiler, front side lights clear like early models and side repeaters Europe specs.

All Inside the copkip came from the latest GRAND FINALE edition, Upholstery, carpets, dashboard, steering wheel, shift knob etc, outside mirrors and engine lid from late 1500 model.

Many many parts where replaced for new or rebuilt like all interiors, brake system including rotors, clutch, coolant system, struts, rebuilt engine, exhaust custom built like ANSA MARMITTE dual tip cat back style, a very nice set of CROMODORA DAYTONA CD87 13X6.5 4X98mm with sumitomo tires 175-50-13 front 185-60-13 rear or a nice set of CAMPAGNOLO BERTONE DESIGN 13X6 4X98 with sumitomo tires 175-50-13 front and 14X6.5 4X98 with Federral tires 185-55-14 rear. Nice Alpine cassette and 6 CD player system etc. etc. I loose my mind to how many parts were fixed or replaced.

The engine was rebuilt it on last January 2008 and was fix it "normal" my first idea was to modify the engine you know, hot cams, dual weber light flyhwheel etc, etc. or "swap" for a modern Honda engine. My misfortune is my X1/9 is 1979 and I live on California, just 1975 and lower models are exempt to smog regulations.

Today just I give to him regular maintenance less than 3000 miles per year and garaged almost all the year, I keep on mind as a next project to paint it again on same color but on my dreams I want to have another one also I have my spare parts to built other X1/9 same like this but on ORANGE COPPER color. maybe...

This is the latest set of pictures of my X1/9 taked on Jun 2012
